A few seasons back, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson jokingly sought help from a fictional Delaware team to secure a playoff spot.

It was an amusing twist in a 2022 episode from Bleacher Report's popular football cartoon "Gridiron Heights."

In real life on Sunday, Delaware's Ravens fans are looking at Jackson and the team as their last hope of stopping the Kansas City Chiefs to prevent a Taylor Swift Super Bowl.

File - Taylor Swift, right, watches from a suite alongside Travis Kelce's mother, Donna Kelce, inside Arrowhead Stadium during the first half of an NFL football game between the Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023, in Kansas City, Mo.

A Chiefs Super Bowl appearance this season would mark KC's fourth trip in the last five seasons.

If that happens, it means Eagles fans will probably see more of center Jason Kelce, the big brother of KC tight end Travis Kelce, whose little bro is also dating T-Swift

While Ravens fans line up at the bar, ready to drink Swift and the younger Kelce's tears (assuming any will be in stock this Sunday), here's a brief look at the underrated Delaware Clams.

Who are the Delaware Clams?

Eliminated Stars Try to Steal the NFC East’s Playoff Spot | Gridiron Heights S5E16

Deshaun, CMC and other eliminated superstars band together as the Delaware Clams to steal the NFC East’s playoff spot🚨 New, extended episode of #GridironHeights (@StateFarm)

The Delaware Clams are a super team in the NFC East comprised of star players on teams that are eliminated from playoffs. The Clams' main goal is to win the division.

The Clams play in "DuPont Stadium on the Rehoboth boardwalk between the Grotto Pizza and the Candy Kitchen."

The fans (nicknamed the Clam Fam) jump into inflatable pools at tailgates. Before Clams players exit team huddles, they join hands by making a fist and then yell, "Clam up!"

The team's white board revealed the Clams love their First State perks: "No sales tax makes us kings of I-95."

That same white board also said the team has "won seven Super Bowls in the '80's with Coach Rock Bivalve and QB Mo Lusk."

The team’s first episode on “Gridiron Heights” appears to be in Season 4 Episode 15 and was uploaded to YouTube on Dec. 10, 2019. The Clams have been mentioned a few times since then on various episodes.

Lots of stars have played for the Clams over the last few seasons, including Christian McCaffrey, Odell Beckham Jr. and J.J. Watt. Dan Campbell also coached the team.

The irony is McCaffrey's 49ers and Campbell's Lions will both face one another in real life on Sunday for a shot to play the Chiefs or Ravens (who OBJ signed with the Ravens this season) in the Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, Feb. 11.

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson meets Delaware Clams

Ravens QB Jackson reached out to the Delaware Clams in "Gridiron Heights" S6 E13 when the Ravens were fighting for a chance to make the playoffs in the 2021-22 season.

A desperate Jackson secretly went to a marsh at night in Delaware, surrounded by Clams players hidden in the shadows, as he explained: "My whole team is out, and we're forced to start guys from the Baltimore Orioles." Lamar continued, "We need you to play spoiler."

Clams players then attempted to sabotage other teams to help the Ravens land a playoff spot.

That included then-Colts QB Carson Wentz sleeping before a game against the Jaguars a player whispered into his ear: "Carson, do something whacky."

In real life, Wentz through an interception that game and the Colts missed the playoffs. The Ravens finished the season 8-9 and didn't make the playoffs either.

Yet, the Delaware Clams tried to help.

Now the shoe is kinda on the other foot this weekend, as Delawareans are hoping the Ravens do them a solid against the Chiefs on Sunday, which would force Taylor Swift to clam up.

We shell sea how that plays out.
