Deion Sanders condemned fans who sent death threats at CSU’s Henry Blackburn. On Tuesday (Sept. 19), Sanders addressed Blackburn’s late hit on Travis Hunter during a presser. The passionate coach forgave Henry for his illegal hit. He then reprimanded people for exposing the student and family’s addresses. Coach Prime asserted that there was no place for hatred in football and he wouldn’t tolerate the hostility.

“Henry Blackburn is a good player who played a phenomenal game,” Colorado’s new coach expressed. “He made a tremendous hit on Travis on the sideline. You could call it dirty, you could call it he was just playing the game of football. But whatever it was, it does not constitute that he should be receiving death threats.”

Colorado State head coach Jay Norvell also chimed in on his player’s actions. “I’m saddened if there’s any of our fans, that’s on the other side of those threats,” Norvell said. “I would hope and pray not, but that kid was just playing [to] the best of his ability. And he made a mistake… Let’s move on. That kid does not deserve that.”

Blackburn’s illegal hit happened after the play was dead. After Henry hit Hunter, the Colorado player writhed in pain on the ground. Shadeur Sanders ran down the field and pressed the Colorado State player for the dirty hit.

However, during a recent livestream, Hunter expressed that he forgave him, saying, “He did what he was supposed to do. It’s football. Something bad is going to happen on the field sooner or later. You’ve got to get up and fight again.”

While Deion and Travis may be over the illegal hit, it doesn’t seem all the Buffaloes will forgive. Buffaloes safety Shilo Sanders admitted he wanted to fight Blackburn. “I wanted to whoop that dude that did that to him, for real, after the game or something,” he disclosed. “If I see him just around here somewhere, he got to watch out. But that made me mad, just seeing him try to play dirty like that. That was crazy.”

Colorado vs. Colorado State was a heated game that came down to the wire. The Buffaloes struggled in the first two quarters but found their stride late in the 3rd quarter. The game went to two overtimes, with Colorado sealing the deal with an endzone interception. Colorado defeated CSU 43-35.
