Defy Media Fires ‘Honest Trailers’ Creator Andy Signore After Sexual Abuse Allegations

Honest Trailers creator Andy Signore has been fired after accusations of sexual harassment and abuse went public. Defy Media, which owns the Screen Junkies YouTube channel where Honest Trailers airs, tweeted the announcement of Signore’s termination.

The digital media company said that his termination was effective immediately and that “there is simply no justification for his egregious and intolerable behavior.” The HR team was made aware of the allegations which prompted an investigation. Emma Bowers, a former intern that worked for Signore, came forward on Twitter last week to tell a detailed story about how he made comments about masturbating to photos of her. April Dawn, a fan of Screen Junkies, also gave a Twitter testimony on how Signore tried to assault her on multiple occasions.

“We are acting swiftly to address the concerns of the people affected, and that going forward, our community is free of harassment or discrimination of any kind,” said Defy.

The announcement of Signore’s termination came quickly after Defy sent out a tweet over the weekend about the pending investigation and that his employment was suspended.

The firing of Signore comes after the recent deluge of sexual harassment and abuse allegations affecting Hollywood. This includes the recent firing of Harvey Weinstein as well as the scathing accusations associated with Cinefamily and Austin’s Fantastic Fest.
