Journey and Def Leppard are teaming up for a massive U.S. summer stadium tour, and they’re bringing Cheap Trick, Steve Miller Band, and Heart with them at various spots along the way. Expect a night of mega Eighties hits like “Don’t Stop Believin,” “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” “Faithfully,” “Photograph” and (depending on where you live) “The Flame,” “Abracadabra,” and “These Dreams.”

“Having just completed a sensational 18 month run promoting our Diamond Star Halos album,” Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott said in a statement, “we shall hit the boards running with a brand-new stage show and set of songs that will celebrate specific parts of our history. We may even have a surprise or two up our sleeves … so, wanna join us !??! … See you in the summer !”

Def Leppard spent last summer on a stadium tour with Mötley Crüe, Poison, and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. And while that one was geared toward hair metal fans, this one is more for arena rock aficionados. Cheap Trick are playing four shows, Heart are down for three, and Steve Miller Band are hitting 16.

Journey guitarist Neal Schon and keyboardist Jonathan Cain have spent the past year battling each other in the court system and the press, but it somehow hasn’t slowed down the band’s touring machine. They crisscrossed the country with Toto last year, and they’re playing arenas together again in the early months of 2024.

It’s also been a tumultuous time for Heart. Ann and Nancy Wilson mended their relationship after a nasty family squabble kept them apart from 2016 to 2019, but they’ve toured in separate camps over the past four years. “Nancy and I are okay with each other,” Ann Wilson told Classic Rock in 2022. “We just have different ideas for what Heart should be, and we haven’t figured out a compromise yet. Fifty years on, I still want it to break barriers and rules, and she’s more satisfied to ride the LA imaging thing and just do legacy stuff. So that’s a real split between us.”

Nancy Wilson has been touring the past few years under the name Nancy Wilson’s Heart, with vocalist Kimberly Nichole filing the role of Ann, but on October 10, the two sisters reunited onstage for the first time in four years at a show in Santa Rosa, California. They have three Heart shows on the books later this month.
