Rocker Dee Snider bashes Jennifer Lopez and Shakira’s 'pole humping' Super Bowl halftime show
Rock ‘n’ roller Dee Snider was decidedly not a fan of the Super Bowl halftime show.
The Twisted Sister frontman, 64, said on social media Sunday that none of the rock bands he knows can deliver the kind of performance that Jennifer Lopez and Shakira did in their dance-heavy set, “beginning to pole humping, a** slapping, a** shaking end.” He sarcastically commented that they “made such a powerful statement for women’s equality.”

The 15-minute show featured multiple hits and fierce dancing from both women, including some of the moves Lopez picked up during her rigorous pole-dancing training for her role playing a stripper in Hustlers. It marked the first time in Super Bowl history that two Latinas performed the show together, and the barrier-breaking mini-concert received raves from many.
Snider, however, voiced his displeasure about this year’s half time headliners back in September, as NFL officials announced Lopez would star in one of the most watched television events of the year.

The guaranteed massive audience for the Super Bowl has traditionally meant that the artists who star in the halftime show see a bump in sales. Just hours after J. Lo and Shakira took the stage Sunday, sales of the songs they sang on the field in Miami increased more than 1,000 percent, according to early numbers from Billboard.
Some rock fans agreed with Snider’s take last fall and again after Lopez and Shakira took over the field. They suggested Aerosmith (who performed alongside Britney Spears in 2001), Poison, Metallica and a number of other heavy rock or metal artists would be good choices.
All it was was a bunch of hair swinging.
