Decatur art teacher wins national award

Feb. 15—The National Art Education Association selected Tammie Clark, a Decatur City Schools elementary art teacher, to receive the Southeastern Region Art Educator award.

Clark teaches art at Oak Park Elementary and Frances Nungester Elementary. She has worked for Decatur City Schools since 2001.

The NAEA will present Clark with her award at the Southeastern Region Awards Ceremony on April 14 in San Antonio.

Founded in 1947, the NAEA describes itself as the "leading professional membership organization exclusively for visual arts, design, and media arts education professionals."
