Death on the Nile not expected to reshoot Armie Hammer's scenes

Death on the Nile is reportedly not planning on replacing Armie Hammer's scenes in light of the recent sexual assault allegations levelled against him.
According to Variety, sources familiar with the film claimed that the Call Me by Your Name star's role is "significant to the point of being the film's male lead" and that reshoots – which can typically cost upwards of $10 million (£7.25m) – would be difficult to pull off at this late stage.
The idea becomes near impossible, too, when you factor in how big the steamer-set thriller's ensemble cast is and how busy their schedules are all likely to be in the coming months.

It's worth noting, though, that Disney has declined to comment on the matter.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed earlier this month that it is investigating Hammer following allegations of rape and physical abuse by a former partner. Hammer has strongly denied the accusations.
In a statement, lawyers for Hammer said: "With the truth on his side, Mr Hammer welcomes the opportunity to set the record straight. From day one, Mr Hammer has maintained that all of his interactions with [the alleged victim] – and every other sexual partner of his for that matter – have been completely consensual."
Over the last few weeks, Hammer has exited several upcoming projects including the Jennifer Lopez-fronted rom-com Shotgun Wedding, The Godfather-inspired series The Offer and Cold War drama Billion Dollar Spy.
Based on Agatha Christie's acclaimed novel of the same name, and positioning itself as a follow-up to 2017's Murder on the Orient Express, Death on the Nile sees Sir Kenneth Branagh reprise his role as Belgian detective Hercule Poirot as he investigates the mysterious demise of a young woman at the centre of a passionate love triangle.
Hammer is set to play Simon Doyle, while Wonder Woman's Gal Gadot is on board as Simon's wealthy new lover Linnet Ridgeway.

Joining them on screen, Game of Thrones' Rose Leslie plays Linnet's maid Louise Bourget while Sex Education's Emma Mackey brings Simon's ex-fiancée Jacqueline de Bellefort to life.
Black Panther's Letitia Wright, Victoria & Abdul's Ali Fazal, comedians Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders and Russell Brand, Ratched actor Sophie Okonedo and Annette Bening round out the star-studded cast.
Death on the Nile is scheduled to hit UK cinemas on 11 February, 2022.
