Dean McDermott Shares Encouraging Post About Being Sober, Tori Spelling Likes It

Tori Spelling is showing support for Dean McDermott days after filing for divorce.

The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum, 50, liked an Instagram post shared by the Canadian actor, 57, on Tuesday, April 9. The message included a quote about sobriety reading, "If all you did was stay sober today, you're still winning. Keep that s--- up."

"I'm proud of you. Nuff Said!! #cleanandsober #thesoberlife 🙏🤟," wrote McDermott in the caption.

The post currently has nearly 700 likes, including one from his estranged wife.

McDermott has experienced alcohol and drug abuse for nearly three decades, revealing in a November 2023 interview with the Daily Mail that he was staying in a sober living facility and had spent his summer in rehab.

In a conversation with Page Six last month, he credited Spelling as one of his biggest supporters amid his ongoing recovery.

"Tori has always been my biggest supporter, my biggest fan," he told the outlet. "She just wants me to be happy, bottom line, and she's such an incredible woman that way."

Spelling filed for divorce from McDermott after 18 years of marriage on Friday, March 29.

"I've never felt more alone," the actress said about her divorce in the debut installment of her podcast, misSPELLING.

"I don't feel worth loving. That's the truth," she continued. "And that's something that's just in you, it's not something I wanted or created. That starts when you're young. [And changing it], that's not easy to do. ... I don't know if you can."

While speaking with PEOPLE at the iHeartMusic Awards on April 1, Spelling explained that she is working on getting used to her new normal.

"I definitely want to redefine it and take the hard out of it. And I feel like it's an evolving time and it's the appropriate time in life and shifts happen in life for a reason and you just keep going. You move forward and you do your one thing," said Spelling.

She and McDermott are parents to Liam Aaron, 17, Stella Doreen, 15, Hattie Margaret, 12, Finn Davey, 11, and Beau Dean, 7.

"It's been pretty rocky for everyone, but Tori is finding her way," a source previously told PEOPLE.
