“Deal or No Deal Island” exclusive video shows explosive Temple argument

"A snake will always be a snake."

Deal or No Deal Island has a cash jackpot that is approaching $3 million and counting, but the main drama of the show has not been between players and the mysterious Banker, but rather between the players themselves. Alyssa Klinzing and Stephanie Mitchell have been going at it all season long, especially after Alyssa and ally Aron Barbell conspired against Stephanie in a prior challenge in which they tried to get her out.

That feud is taken to the next level during tonight’s episode on NBC, and we have an exclusive video above showing part of an explosive argument between the two in the Temple. [SPOILER ALERT: The clip, as well as description below, reveals who is going up against the Banker to fight off elimination.]

At the start of the scene, we see host Joe Manganiello asking Alyssa — who is a spectator in the Temple — if she has any regrets. After Alyssa replies that she does not, Stephanie chimes in with “Snakes regret nothing. They bite without remorse.”

“I feel like I’ve been honest,” counters Alyssa. “I’ve been true to myself, my character, my integrity regardless of how other people here feel about that. I have not enjoyed my treatment…”

At that point, Stephanie cuts her off with “When you’re a blatant liar and you get called out on your lies…”

There’s lots of back and forth between the pair, and all the while, as Manganiello points out, “Aaron looks like he’s about to throw up.” He’s not wrong. Aron looks about as uncomfortable on screen as any reality show contestant we have seen in a long, long while.

The confrontation concludes with Stephanie telling Alyssa, “I saw you on multiple occasions do devious, low-down, dirty, disgusting tactics, and when I called you out on it, I became your target because I know how you are. I see who you are. And guess what? America will too. And I look forward to that. Whether I go home today or I stay to play with you guys, everyone will see what you are. A snake will always be a snake."

When Alyssa replies that “I have nothing to say to that,” Stephanie counters with “Yes, you shouldn’t. You should stop speaking.”

For a program that requires a level of teamwork as players try to work together to build a pot of money that will go to the eventual winner, there has been a heaping helping of animosity on the new version of the classic game show. Claudia Jordan also came out guns blazing against both Stephanie and Kim Mattina, especially after Kim referred to her and Boston Rob Mariano as “f---ers.”

Tonight’s tense Temple back-and-forth is the latest escalation of that animosity, and EW can report that it is merely the tip of the iceberg in terms of what goes down this evening. And, somehow, miraculously, it doesn’t involve Boston Rob in the least. The guy is simply sitting back and enjoying the show, just like the rest of us.
