Meet the Merc with a Bark.

Deadpool 3 is looking to be even weirder than we first thought — in a good way.

Just like the Disney+ series Loki introduced different alternate-reality "variants" of the God of Mischief, including an alligator Loki, the MCU's Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Ryan Reynolds, revealed his upcoming sequel with Hugh Jackman will at least be getting Dogpool.

"Did Dogpool save the day? Not a chance in gremlin hell. But she IS currently causing the Disney plushy merch department nightmares," Reynolds tweeted on Thursday morning, along with a photo of Dogpool. "Coming with the movie, Summer 2024."

Dogpool also has her own Instagram, which fans can follow at @dogpool.

In Marvel Comics, Deadpool traveled to Earth-103173, a parallel reality in which scientists conducted Weapon X-level experiments on a dog named Wilson, transforming him into Dogpool. The canine hero would become a member of the Deadpool Corps., a team of alternate-reality Deadpools.

So, does this mean the Deadpool Corps. will also be popping up in Deadpool 3 and that the film is a multiverse jaunt? We wouldn't put it past Marvel. The larger cinematic universe has been leaning heavily into this concept of parallel dimensions with recent titles.

Set photos have also leaked showing Reynolds' Merc with a Mouth and Jackman's Wolverine standing beside the wreckage of the 20th Century Fox logo, a self-referential nod to the fact that the previous X-Men movies were released by the former studio that has now been absorbed into Disney's roster. In short, things were already getting weird.

Deadpool 3 reunites Reynolds and Jackman in their Marvel roles after 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the film will return stars of the previous films, including Rob Delaney (Sugar Bear), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), and Stefan Kapicic (Colossus).

The Crown's Emma Corrin and Succession's Matthew Macfadyen have also joined the cast, while reports have suggested Jennifer Garner (who recently worked with Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy and Reynolds on 2022's The Adam Project) is reprising her Elektra role.

Filming was paused due to the 118-day-long SAG-AFTRA strike, which finally ended on Wednesday night when the actors' guild struck a new deal with the American Motion Picture Association. That means stars, including Reynolds, can not only get back to work, but they can also talk about their projects now. Hence the new Dogpool image. "We are back in business," Levy wrote on his Instagram Stories. The film is now revving to get back into production, and the filmmaker is confirming a "summer 2024" premiere.

The film is still on Disney's release calendar to hit theaters May 3, 2024.
