‘Deadliest Catch’ is back for season 16 with a new spinoff, Cate Blanchett is ‘Mrs. America’ and more of this week's best in pop culture

The Emmy Award-winning series “Deadliest Catch” returns for season 16 with a 2-hour premiere episode. This season the Alaskans crab fleet will face off against the Russians for the first time. Discovery Channel is banking on the popularity of the show and expanding the franchise with a spinoff called “Deadliest Catch: Bloodline,” also premiering on April 14. Cate Blanchett plays self-described "activist housewife" Phyllis Schlafly in “Mrs. America.” The FX original series, based on true events, will stream exclusively on Hulu. The series will follow the two sides — in favor of, and against the Equal Rights Amendment, with actress Rose Bryne playing feminist Gloria Steinem. “Mrs. America” premieres April 15. Way before Jennifer Lopez was a megastar, she was a fly girl on “In Living Color.” The sketch comedy TV show, created by Keenan Ivory Wayans, is celebrating its 30th anniversary. “In Living Color” launched the careers of Jim Carrey and Jamie Foxx, to name a few.
