DDG Responds To Haters Saying Halle Bailey Is Allegedly Pregnant By A “Bum”

As rumors continue to swirl about Halle Bailey possibly being pregnant by her boyfriend DDG, now the rapper/YouTuber has found himself responding to critics calling him a “bum.”

Following recent paparazzi photos of The Little Mermaid star wearing an oversized hoodie with her belly seemingly protruding underneath, social media began buzzing. Critics questioned Bailey’s judgement of possibly having a baby with a “bum.”

DDG, who’s had much success on his own as a YouTuber and rapper, is clearly far from the insulting name — but has added fuel to the fire with his trolling over the last year. On Oct. 17, the double Platinum-selling rapper addressed haters of his relationship by changing his biography on X (formerly Twitter).

“Updated my bio to clear up confusion,” he wrote on Tuesday afternoon. The 26-year-old then changed his bio to read “Rich Bum.” Later in the day, he also uploaded photos of him and Bailey with the caption, “Worried about me so much they forgot to live their own lives FOCUS.”

As some have voiced their disdain for the relationship, Bailey’s family has supported the couple. In September, Chlöe hopped on Instagram Live to gush over her sister’s love life.

“Let me tell you something. I am just so happy,” she said. “Halle and Darryl are so happy. He’s been so sweet and everything. I f**k with them, I don’t care what nobody says. Y’all don’t see behind the scenes. Like I love them, I really do.”

Halle Bailey opened up about her true feelings for DDG, né Darryl Dwayne Grandberry Jr., in her September cover for Cosmopolitan magazine’s Style Issue.

“Love has been a really big one for me, too, because that’s something I’m experiencing for the first time, and it’s, like, ‘whoa’ in your brain. It’s just fireworks, a spark for creativity,” she said. “You know, you have puppy love experiences, you think that’s love. But this is my first deep, deep, real love.”

Bailey and the Pontiac, Mich., rapper were first rumored to be dating in January 2022. He confirmed their relationship on her birthday that March.

Speaking to the nature of his and Bailey’s romance, as well as the backlash he receives for it, he expressed to VIBE in November 2022, “I feel like it’s just… very, very organic, and very natural. I know probably to the internet it looks like, ‘Oh, relationship goals,’ and stuff like that. It is, but it is really regular.”

He added, “This is how we really are. I don’t feel like I’ve ever been this intimate in public. What do you call it? PDA? I’ve been doing PDA on accident, not even on accident. We be in our own world. Then when I see the stuff on the internet, I be like, ‘Oh, that’s cool.'”

“But I really don’t like the pressure they put on it and all the public stuff, but that comes with it. But this is definitely a very, very happy place for me, for sure.”

DDG is no stranger to the limelight, as the YouTuber-turned-rapper currently has almost 3 million subscribers on his YouTube music account, and over 3.2 million subs on his personal account. He also spoke on how he handles the negativity about his relationship and his own career.

“Growing up and being in the world of social media, being a public figure, I feel like it’s something I got used to, just dealing with people’s opinions,” he explained. “I really just look at it and keep scrolling. I don’t really soak in it. Somebody that’s new to the game will probably look at it like, ‘What’s going on? This person DMing me this.’ I’ve got hundreds of hate comments, hundreds of DMs.”

He went on, “People hate on me. But for you to really go to my page, click on the direct message [button], and send me something [negative], knowing I got five million followers and I might not see that, you’ve got to be a fan.”
