DDG is thinking back on how a past April Fools' joke went over everyone’s heads!

The father of one, 26, reposted a tweet that he shared on social media exactly one year ago today.

“Can’t wait to be your dad,” the “Going To The Top” rhymer wrote along with a photo of an ultrasound image on April Fools' Day 2023 on X (formerly known as Twitter). On Monday, he retweeted the message, adding a new one: “Would make the same april fools joke as last year but that mf might come true again.”

His original tweet came one month before the release of his girlfriend Halle Bailey’s feature film debut in the Disney live-action remake of The Little Mermaid.

However, after months of speculation that followed, Bailey, 24, announced the birth of the couple’s first child.

"Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son.. welcome to the world my halo 🥰👼🏽 ✨the world is desperate to know you 😉🤣♥️," the actress captioned a Jan. 6 Instagram post.

At ESSENCE’s Black Women in Hollywood Awards in March, Bailey, who was one of four honorees for the ceremony, opened up about why she kept her pregnancy private.

"We are Black women in entertainment, and although we signed up for the challenges of the spotlight, in this current climate, that spotlight burns brighter, hotter, and uninterrupted, whereas the scrutiny of its magnification leaves no concealment," she said before the attendees.

The “Angel” singer added that being in the “spotlight over the past eight years” has caused her to get “burned” before.

"I'm in love and I feel like he's my baby sometimes,” the “Pray It Away” singer, 25, said while discussing her partnership with CORE Hydration.

"Halle's the best mom ever, and, yeah, I'm just going to stop talking about it so I don't get emotional. But it's really cool,” she told PEOPLE.

Last week, Halle celebrated her 24th birthday in St. Lucia with DDG and their son.
