DC Young Fly Posts Tribute To Jacky Oh On First Posthumous Birthday
DC Young Fly celebrates Jacky Oh on what would have been her 34th birthday. Taking to Instagram, the actor uploaded a photo with Jacky and sent a heartwarming message in the caption on Friday (Nov. 3).
“Happy birthday baby,” wrote the 31-year-old. “All I got is memories. Ima make sure to try my best mama. love u for life.” He ended the post with the hashtag “#ForEverMyQueen.”
The social media upload comes after the comedic actor announced a pop-up shop, selling Jacky Oh’s remaining lipgloss inventory from her beauty brand J Nova Collection. According to the event flyer, the family will not continue the company.
In a clip shared on Instagram last week by Leticia Marie Gardner, DC Young Fly prays alongside Jacky Oh’s close friends and family. The intimate group surrounded a pink and gold decorated birthday cake for their loved one.
“Dear Heavenly Father, we come together humbly. We just want to say we’re thankful, and we’re grateful, Father. We’re thankful for Jacklyn’s life, heavenly Father, and we’re going to continue to just lift her up, Heavenly Father,” pleaded DC Young Fly.
“We just pray, Heavenly Father, that you grant us the strength, the guidance, the motivation, the inspiration, the tools, the mindset to just continue to be uplifted, Heavenly Father. Have great joy, have great spirit, Heavenly Father.”
Jacky Oh, née Jacklyn Smith, died in June from plastic surgery complications. She traveled to Miami in May 2023 to have a “gluteal augmentation procedure” before her tragic death. The Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner’s investigations report ruled the manner of death an accident.
The doctor who performed the surgery won’t be charged with any crimes and no criminal investigation will take place due to the death not being ruled a homicide.
