New DC Comics & Thomas The Tank Engine Mash-Up Collectibles Revealed
Fisher-Price has announced plans to expand its line of DC Super Friends MINIS with a new wave, featuring Thomas as Superman, and his other engine friends as Robin, The Flash, and Cyborg, among others. Fisher Price will debut more than 35 new DC Super Friends Mash-Up MINIS in 2016.
Additionally, Fisher-Price will also introduce a new set of 10 Thomas & Friends-SpongeBob SquarePants MINIS.
The Thomas & Friends mash-up MINIS are part of a line of small-scale, collectible Thomas & Friends engines that launched in 2015. The new mash-up MINIS will be available as 4-packs retailing for $6.99 and 9-packs retailing for $14.99 in spring 2016.
Mike Pisors, Director of Thomas & Friends Toy Global Brand Marketing, said in a press release, “Thomas & Friends is a beloved brand spanning generations, but we know today’s children not only play with trains, but also cars, blocks and action figures. Our partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products allows us to bring to life mash-ups of preschoolers’ all-time favorite DC Comics Super Heroes and Super-Villains for a relevant, winning combination kids will love.”
Fisher-Price also plans on developing new online content around the line, such as videos to introduce the MINIS.
