Daytime Emmys announce date and location for 2024 ceremony

CBS and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences have announced the details for the 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. The event will take place on Friday, June 7, at the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles and air live on CBS from 8:00pm to 10:00pm Eastern (tape delayed on the west coast). You’ll also be able to stream the program live on Paramount+. The Lifetime Achievement recipient, nominations, host, and additional information will be announced in the coming weeks.

Adam Sharp, president and CEO of the NATAS, said in a statement, “We eagerly anticipate our return in June as we once again partner with CBS to recognize the exceptional and talented individuals who make daytime television great. We’re thrilled to kick off our second half-century of the Daytime Emmys.”

These Daytime Emmys come just a few months after the 50th anniversary show. That 2023 event was originally scheduled for June 16, 2023, but was delayed until December 15 due to the Writers Guild and SAG-AFTRA strikes that shut down productions across the entertainment industry. But to be clear, those awards honored the best achievements from the calendar year 2022, while these awards will focus on the calendar year 2023.

These awards celebrate the best achievements in daytime television, including soap operas like “General Hospital” and “The Young and the Restless” and daytime talk shows like “The Kelly Clarkson Show” and “Live with Kelly and Mark.” They also celebrate lifestyle shows, culinary shows, and legal/courtroom programs. Game shows used to be celebrated here, but those prizes have been moved to the Primetime Emmys, while animated and children’s shows were spun off to their own Children’s and Family Emmys ceremony.
