The future of FTR in 2023 is still a mystery, and Dax Harwood isn’t tipping his hand just yet as to what the tag team’s next move might be.

Dax Harwood was a recent guest on Inside The Ropes to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about the future of FTR in 2023, with their current All Elite Wrestling contracts reportedly up in April, Harwood said there are a lot of factors that will play into their decision.

“I think that every day, every hour of every day, my mind changes or like think of something new, or I think of something that could affect what we’re going to do in 2023 and beyond,” Dax Harwood said. “Man, there’s so many things that I want to accomplish and continue to accomplish in wrestling and Cash [Wheeler] as well. And whatever decision that I decide to make, it obviously has to be 100% on board with him too.

“I talked about it on my podcast last week, though; he told me he has his ideas of what he thinks we should do or what he would like to do. He has his goals in mind too. And so do I, and they kind of parallel each other, I think. But he said his exact words were ultimately, ‘You have a family you have to look after, and whatever you want to do, whatever is the best decision for you and your family, is what I will want to do as well.’

“Because him and my wife and my daughter are very, very, very close. And I have to take a lot of things into consideration. I have to take time away from home. Obviously, money as well because I’ve got to be able to take care of my wife and my daughter, and then going into the future too, I want to provide for my daughter and give her a life that I unfortunately never got to have, but also you want to make her work for it too.

“But then, on top of that, we talked about it to ad nauseam, the legacy that we want to leave in professional wrestling that’s so important to me and to Cash. But wrestling has done so much good for me in my life. I’m not even talking about the 19 years that I’ve been wrestling. I mean, beyond the 19 years, the 32 years I’ve been a fan, it has done so much to me growing up.

“This may make me sound holier than thou or not cool, but growing up all through high school. I never did drugs. I never drank alcohol. I never got in trouble ever. All because I just wanted to be home watching wrestling. And I idolized I’m sure you’ve heard of him before; his name is Bret The Hitman Hart.

“I idolized him, and I wanted to be him, and I thought that for me to be able to make him as happy and make him as proud as he made me. I had to follow his words and follow the way he portrayed himself on television. And so it’s done so much good for me. I just want to be able to do that much good for it as well.”
