It’s been nearly three years since Davido’s last album—A Better Time in 2020, to be precise—but the Nigerian star has been busier than ever in that time, collaborating with Adekunle Gold on “High”, touching Amapiano with Focalistic on “Ke Star”, and scoring three solo hits in “WATAWI”, “Electricity”, and “Stand Strong”.

Now Davido’s back with his fourth studio album, Timeless, and after such a busy and successful few years, it feels like of a bit of a celebration. As ever, Afrobeats is the backbone of this album, but he’s also taken care to explore a few other sounds as well. Rap and R&B cast a big shadow over the release, there’s dancehall on “Bop” with Jamaican star Dexta Daps, and Amapiano gets a look-in on “Unavailable” with Musa Keys as well as another Focalistic collab, “Champion Sound”.

To round out the list of features on the album, we’ve got our very own Skepta on “U (Juju)”, award-winning Beninese singer Angelique Kidjo on “Na Money” with highlife band The Cavemen, Morravey (one of the latest signees to Davido’s recently revamped DMW label) on “In The Garden”, Logos Olori (another recent DMW signee) on “Picasso”, Nigerian singer-songwriter Fave on “Kante”, and globe-conquering star Asake on “No Competition”.

Sharing his thoughts on the album, Davido writes: “Timeless is a body of work that goes beyond fashion and trends it’s an authentic body of work that remains true to my core as an artist- using my music to bring joy to my fans across the world. The songs you hear today will be just as relevant tomorrow, that’s why it’s Timeless.”
