David Schwimmer look-alike faces arrest after missing court appearance

This is the one where the Ross Gellar look-alike skips his court appearance and now faces arrest.

A British judge has issued an arrest warrant for the alleged shoplifter — who resembles a Friends-era David Schwimmer — after the man was a no-show in court on Tuesday, according to the Associated Press. Abdulah Husseni, 36, failed to appear in a Blackpool, England, court to face charges of theft and fraud and is now subject to arrest via a warrant issued by District Judge Jane Goodwin.

Husseni has been accused of stealing a coat, phone and wallet from someone in a restaurant in Blackpool, which is northwest England. His image went viral in October after police released surveillance-camera footage of him carrying a case of beer from a restaurant because he looked so much like Schwimmer’s Friends character.

Schwimmer responded to the internet chatter by posting a video in which he was scurrying through a convenience store clutching a case of beer. “Officers, I swear it wasn’t me,” Schwimmer captioned his social media post. “As you can see, I was in New York.”

After Husseni was arrested in November, authorities thanked Schwimmer for helping to shine a light on the case.
