According to David McClane, WOW: Women of Wrestling isn’t ready to tour yet, but they want to get there.

WOW was founded in 2000 by David McClane, who remains heavily involved as the company’s CEO. Jeannie Buss, the controlling owner of the Los Angeles Lakers owner, later acquired WOW as the co-owner alongside McClane and landed a deal with ViacomCBS that brought the show back to TV on CBS-affiliated networks in September 2022. Since its return, WOW has held sessions of tapings in Los Angeles.

In an interview with Jim Varsallone of the Miami HeraldMcLane was asked about potential touring plans for the company. He responded by saying WOW isn’t ready to tour yet, but owner Jeannie Buss eventually wants to take it on the road. McClane emphasized that the company needs to be “lifted up” by having people help the brand gain awareness.

“As of today, the WOW Women of Wrestling is better served on television,” McLane said. “It’s not ready to tour yet. Everyone sees the difficulty in hitting the road immediately. We’re still only 13-14 weeks into the brand-new season of WOW on television, so we need help, Jim. We need your help, like you’re giving me the time to talk to your listeners. We need every fan that watches My 33 TV on weekends down there in Miami to be getting on social media, building up WOW. We need to be lifted up. That’s what the WOW Superheroes need.

“They need air under their wings, and I think when that happens, the brand awareness, the knowledge of who these performers are, then we can look at touring. That’s an ultimate goal of my business partner, Jeannie Buss, who owns the Los Angeles Lakers. She wants to bring WOW coast to coast, city to city, but we’re not ready yet. We don’t want to be too early in attempting to do it. So for now, it’s a television event that you get to see every week in every market across the country.”
