David Duchovny Digs Up Big Trouble in Pet Sematary Prequel Trailer

David Duchovny apparently didn’t get Fred Gwynne’s memo that “sometimes dead is better,” judging by his actions in the trailer for Paramount+’s Pet Sematary: Bloodlines prequel.

“Based on the terrifying and untold 🙄 chapter” from Stephen King’s Pet Sematary novel and set to premiere Friday, Oct. 6, Bloodlines is set in 1969, where a young Jud Crandall (played by Tell Me Lies’ Jackson White) has dreams of leaving his hometown of Ludlow, Maine behind. Soon, though, Jud discovers sinister secrets buried within, and he is forced to confront a dark family history that will forever keep him connected to Ludlow.

Jud, I shall remind you, was played as an older man by the aforementioned and late Fred Gwynne in 1989’s Pet Sematary feature.

The prequel movie’s cast also includes Duchovny and Jack Mulhern (Mare of Easttown) as Bill Baterman, a proud and devoted dad, and his ill-fated Vietnam vet son Timmy, plus Natalie Alyn Lind (The Gifted), Forrest Goodluck (The Republic of Sarah), Henry Thomas (name any Mike Flanagan series!), Isabella Star LaBlanc (Long Slow Exhale), Samantha Mathis (Billions) and Pam Grier (Jackie Brown).

Will you pay your respects at the new Pet Sematary this October?
