David Dastmalchian, the actor known for spooky roles in films such as Dune and The Suicide Squad, has lined up a new gig that feels appropriate for Friday the 13th.

Dastmalchian is the new brand ambassador for Titan Casket, a company that sells caskets online and also helps with end-of-life planning. As part of his duties, Dastmalchian will appear in marketing materials and be the face of the company.

For Dastmalchian, teaming with the company is personal, as in recent years he has lost family members and wishes he had been aware of end-of-life planning that can make those difficult times less painful.

“It’s an honor to represent Titan Casket, a brand that’s not only making end-of-life planning more accessible and affordable, but also initiating crucial conversations around it,” Dastmalchian said in a statement. “If I had known about Titan Casket and the right to buy my own casket, I would have been spared some heartache. The savings, convenience, and education that Titan offers while purchasing a casket is so important, and normalizing end of life planning is an important conversation I look forward to having in the months to come.”

Titan Casket has a few Hollywood connections. It hired Fboy Island executive producer Elan Gale as creative director, and Taylor Swift’s video for her song “Anti Hero” featured one of the company’s caskets.

As for Dastmalchian, he recently had a small but key role in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, in which he played William Borden, a thorn in the side to Cillian Murphy’s J. Robert Oppenheimer. He started his career with Nolan’s The Dark Knight, and has credits this year that included The Last Voyage of the Demeter, The Boogeyman, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Boston Strangler. He is also a name in comic books as the creator of Dark Horse’s Count Crowley: Reluctant Midnight Monster Hunter.

Said the founders of Titan Casket in a statement: “We are delighted to have David Dastmalchian join the Titan family. David’s authenticity, talent, and dedication to meaningful storytelling is a perfect match with our mission. We believe that with David joining the national conversation around modern funeral planning, we can help millions of more families have more meaningful and affordable outcomes.”
