David Beckham’s statements on those 2004 affair accusations in his recent Netflix docuseries, Beckham, may have been an attempt to clear his name but it seems to have backfired. Dredging up the claims made by his former assistant, Rebecca Loos — who claims the pair had a fling while she was working for the soccer star has only brought more scrutiny on Beckham and his marriage to wife Victoria Beckham. Now, resurfaced reports are airing out Loos’s side of the story, including her alleged proof that the affair happened.

Loos first discussed the affair in an interview on Sky News after the story broke and included a reference to her alleged evidence. “There is something I know about him, an intimate part of his body that I think only women who’ve been in bed with him would know,” she said at the time.

“There was an obvious attraction. We spent a lot of time together. We just bonded. We think the same way, made the same jokes, had some kind of connection,” she said. “He treated me in a special way. Always made sure I was looked after. I began to feel very special.”

Since the docuseries, Loos has spoken out once again to criticize Beckham for his denials of the affair in an interview with Daily Mail.

“He is portraying himself as the victim and he’s making me look like a liar, like I’ve made up these stories,” Loos said about the Netflix show. “He is indirectly suggesting that I’m the one who has made Victoria suffer.” She later concluded, “He’s the one that’s caused the suffering.”

In the docuseries, the Beckhams address the impact of Loos’s claims, similar allegations made by other women, and the media attention the claims brought. “It was the most unhappy I have ever been in my entire life,” Victoria, 49, said. “It felt like the world was against us.”

“There was some horrible stories which were difficult to deal with,” the now-retired soccer star, 48, said. “It was the first time that me and Victoria had been put under that kind of pressure in our marriage.”

“I don’t know how we got through it, in all honesty,” he said. “Victoria is everything to me. To see her hurt was incredibly difficult, but we’re fighters and at that time we needed to fight for each other, we needed to fight for our family, and what we had was worth fighting for.”
