David Beckham’s Netflix docuseries, Beckham, unleashed a fury of gossip history about his alleged affairs, and now, one of his reported mistresses is breaking her silence. Rebeca Loos, who was once the soccer star’s personal assistant, spoke up on her Instagram page about the sudden tornado of headlines.

Loos, who is now a yoga and meditation teacher, seems to be keeping a cool head about the criticism she’s receiving on her social media page. A supporter jumped in to lift her up after all of the negativity. “Stay strong,” they wrote. “You have a beautiful life with your gorgeous family which unlike others doesn’t have to fill the gaps by getting Netflix involved!!!” The fitness instructor responded with gratitude, “Thank you 🙏🏼[I] am taking in the nasty comments with as much humor as I can.”
What makes this turn of events so intriguing is that 19 years later, it is still a he-said, she-said situation. Loos owned up to the affair while the former athlete still denies it happened almost two decades later. “During the past few months I have become accustomed to reading more and more ludicrous stories about my private life,” he said in 2004. “What appeared this morning is just one further example. The simple truth is that I am very happily married and have a wonderful wife and two very special kids. There is nothing any third party can do to change this.”

The infidelity allegedly occurred when David was playing for Real Madrid in Spain and Victoria was back in the U.K. with her two sons, Brooklyn, and Romeo. The distance and the rumors didn’t help their marriage any, which the former Spice Girl described as “the most unhappy” time in her life. Loos wasn’t the only woman whose name was attached to David as there were several others, including singer Katherine Jenkins, model Sarah Marbeck, hair salon owner Danielle Heath, and sex worker Irma Nici. Fans may never know the truth if the affairs ever happened, but Victoria is firm in recalling this time. She concluded, “Here’s the thing — we were against each other if I’m being completely honest.”
