More good things are headed David Archuleta’s way.

The singer has landed a book deal with HarperCollins imprint Dey Street Books in a competitive situation. Archuleta will pen what promises to be a revelatory memoir, per intel received by The Hollywood Reporter. Archuleta’s as-yet-untitled book promises to unveil, “for the first time,” the truth behind struggles growing up as a devout Mormon, achieving fame as a 17-year-old teen who finished second on American Idol, putting his music career on pause for a Mormon mission in Chile, and a “lifesaving decision” to come out as a member of the LGBTQ community during the pandemic.

“Through encouragement from friends, I’ve decided it’s important to share my story,” the 33-year-old says. “I hope it will help others understand the struggles those in the LGBTQ+ community have coming out in religious communities, provide light to anyone navigating difficult family dynamics or faith transitions, and encourage everyone to give more room to love yourself.”

The coming out news went viral and sent shock waves through his fan base as Archuleta had always been closely associated with his faith. In the months since then, Archuleta has experienced a pop cultural resurgence and has since grown his social media footprint. He currently has north of one million followers on TikTok.

In other news for “Archie,” as he’s known to fans, he has signed with Mainstay Entertainment and the Chicane Group for representation across the board. “David is not only a beloved star and undeniable talent but also an impactful artist whose story will resonate universally, inspiring others as it has inspired us. He stands poised to hit even greater heights as he embarks upon this new chapter,” his new reps said in a joint statement.

The memoir and representation news comes as Archuleta has said to be collaborating with producers and writers on a new project for 2024, which “reflects the next chapter of his artistic evolution and continued touring career.”

He appeared on the Tournament of Roses Parade to kick off the year. Other notable outings include performing on the fall run of Dan Reynolds’ LoveLoud, working his way to the finale on The Masked Singer and snagging a spot on Out Magazine’s Out 100 Storytellers. In music news, Archuleta has recently released the singles “Up,” “I’m Yours” and “Afraid to Love.”
