Dave's Hot Chicken locations celebrate rapper Drake's birthday with free sliders

Metro Detroit's Dave's Hot Chicken locations across the country are saluting celebrity rapper Drake on his birthday.

And the birthday celebration includes a freebie for fans of Drake and Dave's Hot Chicken.

On Tuesday, which is Drake's 37th birthday, the chain is giving away free chicken sliders. Drake is a major investor in Dave's Hot Chicken, according to the chain's website.

Here's what to know about the free slider:

  • To get the slider you need to download the Dave's Hot Chicken app or already have it and show it at the register.

  • It's valid for in-store use only on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at participating Dave's Hot Chicken locations.

  • Limit one slider per person while supplies last.

Dave's Hot Chicken got its start six years ago as a pop-up set up by four best friends in an East Hollywood parking lot.

The chain is known for offering only chicken tenders and sliders. Its large chicken tenders are first brined, then breaded, fried, and spiced. The chicken tenders get a dollop of Dave's sauce and are offered with different spice levels. Spice levels range from no spice to mild to extra hot to reaper. The reaper is the hottest and requires a signed waiver because of its heat level.

Sides on the menu include fries, kale salad, and mac and cheese.

Over its six years, the chain has had tremendous growth with locations in several states, Canada and Dubai.

In October 2021, the first Michigan Dave’s Hot Chicken location opened on Michigan Avenue in Dearborn.
