Actress Daveigh Chase has found herself in hot water rather than cold, which is often found in the murky depths of a well as seen in The Ring.

Chase, who appeared as Samara in The Ring, voiced Lilo in Lilo & Stitch, and portrayed Samantha Darko in Donnie Darko, was arrested in Hollywood on August 6 on a drug possession charge by LAPD Hollywood, according to The Blast.

Chase was allegedly booked into a Hollywood jail on a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance and spent two hours behind bars. She was released on $1,000 bail.

Early in 2017, the 28-year-old star was questioned by police after an unresponsive man was left outside a Los Angeles hospital. The man passed away shortly after, but it was found that Chase had been with him hours before. She was not a suspect in the man’s death, which was reported as a possible overdose.

Later in 2017, she was arrested for joyriding. Chase was a passenger in a BMW that was pulled over by police in November 2017. After running the plates, police learned the car was reported as stolen. She was booked for driving in a vehicle without the owner’s consent, which is a felony.

Chase has continued to appear in TV and movies, as well as voice act, since her time as a child star. In 2016, she lent her voice to the video game Let It Die, and appeared as a 15-year-old bride-to-be in Big Love.
