Guitarist Dave Navarro was back playing with Jane’s Addiction at London’s Bush Hall on Thursday (May 23rd), marking his return to the stage after a battle with long COVID kept him sidelined for a few years.

In 2022, original bassist Eric Avery rejoined the legendary alt-rock band after more than a decade away, but with Navarro sitting out, it prevented a reunion of the classic Jane’s Addiction lineup. Queens of the Stone Age’s Troy Van Leeuwen and former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer had filled in the past couple years.

On Thursday night, Navarro, Avery, singer Perry Farrell, and drummer Stephen Perkins played their first show together since 2010.

In addition to Navarro’s return, the concert featured the debut of a new song called “Imminent Redemption.” The band also played  “True Love,” another new tune that they unveiled in concert last year.

The rest of the set was filled with classics like “Stop!,” “Been Caught Steeling,” “Ocean Size,” and “Mountain Song,” the latter of which came in at No. 3 on Consequence‘s list of the 50 Greatest Basslines of All Time. The performance kicked off with “Kettle Whistle,” a song they hadn’t played with Navarro since 2001.

Jane’s Addiction posted video of the beginning of the set on Instagram, with the simple caption “We’re back.” The clip captures Navarro giving prayer hands to the crowd for acknowledging his return.

The London show kicked off a UK/European tour that will run through early July (tickets available here). Jane’s Addiction will return to the States in late September for the South Star Music Festival in Huntsville, Alabama, and the Evolution Festival in St. Louis, Missouri.
