Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl co-hosted The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday. He helped with all the customary duties including the opening monologue, the interviews, the sketches and even performed a couple of musical numbers.

Grohl not only helped host the show, he was also the first guest who was interviewed. And after his time in a chair across from Fallon, he returned behind the desk to interview Lil Nas X.

Viewers enjoyed the whimsical double hosts, with many talking about it on Twitter.

There were some surprising moments. While playing “name that tune” the former drummer for Nirvana forgot the lyrics and name of one of the band’s most popular songs, “Lithium.”

There were also some strange moments, like the sketch in which Grohl and Fallon sang weird commercial jingles. However, most of the singing they did together was great. The two sang a parody of Grohl’s hit “Best of You,” which almost entirely consisted of them screaming “the best!” at each other.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on NBC.
