Dave Chappelle Says Donald Trump Is Like a ‘Bad DJ at a Good Party’

Dave Chappelle visited The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, where he discussed hosting Saturday Night Live following the 2016 presidential election. During his opening monologue, he famously talked about giving Donald Trump “a chance” at being president.

Stephen Colbert couldn’t help but bring up the statement, asking “Do you still want to give him a chance or have you given him all the chances?” To which Chappelle laughed and said, “It’s not like I wanted to give him a chance that night.”

But instead of bashing the current administration, Chappelle looked at the silver linings from the election. He said, “I think we’re all getting an education about the presidency. I know that I never heard discussing of ethics this much. I didn’t realize how ethics are supposed to work at this level of government, and he is putting all this on the forefront.”

Chappelle also thinks that as a result of this election, future voting elections will be better. He said, ” I think he will make more reforms and better voting; we will work it out.”

But at the end of the day Chappelle admitted, “He is a polarizing dude. He’s like a bad DJ at a good party.”

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
