Dave Chappelle to perform in Detroit at Little Caesars Arena in September

Comedian Dave Chappelle is returning to Detroit during the fall run of his 2023 stand-up comedy tour "Dave Chappelle Live."

It includes a stop at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Sept. 9.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday at 313Presents.com, Livenation.com and Ticketmaster.com. A pre-sale will start Wednesday.

Chappelle filmed his controversial “Dave Chappelle: The Closer” for Netflix at the Fillmore in Detroit in 2021.

Chappelle is the 2019 recipient of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor; he has earned more than 30 nominations and awards in television and film for projects that include his sketch comedy television series “Chappelle’s Show,” comedy specials and hosting appearances on “Saturday Night Live.” He's also received five Emmy awards, including three for his Netflix comedy specials, and won the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album three years in a row.

No cellphones, cameras or recording devices will be allowed at the show. Upon arrival, all phones and smart watches will be secured in pouches that will be unlocked at the end of the show.
