Saturday Night Live Weekend Update co-anchor Michael Che appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday, but he wasn’t alone. Not long into the interview, Dave Chappelle stepped in from just off camera for the purpose of promoting his podcast The Midnight Miracle, but he soon found himself repeatedly, and hilariously, taking part in the interview. Che was doing the interview from Chappelle’s rural Ohio home, in town to perform at one of Chappelle’s outside comedy shows, which he’s been putting on since last summer. When Kimmel asked Che about the performance space (a cornfield), Chappelle was there to answer. When Kimmel asked about the old hotel Che was staying at, Chappelle was there to share his thoughts on it. And when Che talked about the weird gifts he and fellow Weekend Update co-anchor Colin Jost get each other for their birthdays, Chappelle just couldn’t help but tell about the funny gift he got Sean “Diddy” Combs for his birthday years ago. And since Chappelle was clearly part of the interview and wanted to promote his podcast, Kimmel gave him that chance.

“Dave, do you have anything you’d like to plug before we go?” Kimmel asked sarcastically. “You know what, Jimmy?” Chappelle answered. “Because you said it like that, no.”

JIMMY KIMMEL: There's an idea that if you become famous, you-- that means you did something gay.

[LAUGHTER]

MICHAEL CHE: Well, Jimmy, I'd love to answer that question.

JIMMY KIMMEL: [LAUGHS]

DAVE CHAPPELLE: Don't answer that, Michael!

[LAUGHTER]

KYLIE MAR: "Saturday Night Live, Weekend Update" anchor Michael Che's interview on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" was repeatedly interrupted by Dave Chappelle Thursday night. Chappelle has been hosting shows near his rural Ohio home since last summer, and Che was in town to perform at one. And Chappelle was there to answer all the questions about it.

JIMMY KIMMEL: You're doing a show. Are you still doing it outside? Is that the plan tonight?

MICHAEL CHE: Yes.

DAVE CHAPPELLE: Yeah, we're doing it all outside, Jimmy. We do it out in a cornfield-- my neighbor's cornfield. Not my land, my neighbor's land.

KYLIE MAR: Che performed Thursday night along with comedians Dane Cook, Luennel, and Tony Woods. And Che, along with Chappelle, had interesting takes on the lodging.

JIMMY KIMMEL: He brings you out to Ohio, and he puts you in a very dirty old hotel in town.

DAVE CHAPPELLE: Yep.

MICHAEL CHE: I think it's haunted, or there's, like-- something. It's beautiful hotel though. I do like it.

DAVE CHAPPELLE: You got to see the place. It's lovely. I saw Colonel Sanders' ghost one night.

[LAUGHTER]

KYLIE MAR: Che went on to talk about the weird gifts he and "Weekend Update" co-anchor Colin Jost get each other for their birthdays. And Chappelle just had to hop in.

DAVE CHAPPELLE: I have a weird gift story.

JIMMY KIMMEL: Oh, it's-- oh, hey, Dave.

DAVE CHAPPELLE: When I was doing "Chappelle's Show," it was Sean "P. Ditty" Combs' birthday. Guess what I bought him for his birthday. A velour Sean John sweatsuit. Happy birthday, Piddy.

KYLIE MAR: Viewers loved Chappelle's constant interruptions. One viewer tweeted, "'Jimmy Kimmel Live' with Michael Che and Dave Chappelle is hands down the funniest interview on late night TV." While another wrote, "Dave Chappelle hijacking Jimmy Kimmel's interview with Michael Che tonight was hilarious. I'm gonna have to rewind this." And since Chappelle constantly popped in specifically to plug his podcast, "The Midnight Miracle," Kimmel went ahead and asked him about it.

JIMMY KIMMEL: Dave, do you have anything you'd like to plug before we go?

[LAUGHTER]

DAVE CHAPPELLE: You know what, Jimmy? Because you said it like that, no.

JIMMY KIMMEL: No.

[WHOOSH]
