Making his first appearance in Nashville since a 2021 stop alongside Joe Rogan is renowned comedian Dave Chappelle.

The entertainer announced a headlining fall run of stand-up comedy shows that will stop at Bridgestone Arena on Sept. 21.

Tickets are available on July 27 at 10 a.m. CT via ticketmaster.com.

The Live Nation-produced tour starts in August with shows at New York City's Madison Square Garden and concludes in early October at the United Center in Chicago.

Chappelle -- who is only an Oscar and Tony award away from "EGOT" status -- has won five Emmy awards, four Grammy Awards and 2019's Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

2021 saw the comedian embroiled in controversy because of his Netflix stand-up special "The Closer," which many members of the LGBTQ+ community believed some of the content was negatively aimed at the trans community.

In his now infamous Netflix special, Chappelle alluded to December 2019 statements where "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling conflated sex with gender. He also juxtaposed civil rights struggles in both the Black and LGBTQ communities.

Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos' defense of the streaming service continuing to air Chappelle's special led to a walkout from a group of Netflix employees.

In response, before the walkout, Netflix representatives wrote the following to USA TODAY via a prepared statement: "We value our trans colleagues and allies, and understand the deep hurt that's been caused. We respect the decision of any employee who chooses to walk out, and recognize we have much more work to do both within Netflix and in our content."

Chappelle has been retaliated against in recent years as he was attacked onstage at May 2022's "Netflix Is A Joke" festival. Plus, before hosting Saturday Night Live in November 2022, Celeste Yim, one of the show's writers, in an Instagram story post seemingly alluding to the comedian, stated, "I'm trans and non-binary. I use they/them pronouns. Transphobia is murder and it should be condemned."

The former host and co-creator of Comedy Central's "Chappelle's Show" from 2003-2006 has remained undaunted, announcing 11 nationwide performance dates alongside his Nashville appearance.
