Dave Bautista inducts a 9-year-old into the spy game in 'My Spy' trailer

He’s a hardened CIA operative. She’s a precious 9-year-old sick of the bullies at her school. Together, they’re the latest dynamic duo of action-comedies.

The first My Spy trailer unveils this new gig for Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Dave Bautista, costarring opposite the young Chloe Coleman. Big Little Lies fans will know her as Bonnie’s daughter Skye Carlson, but here, she’s Sophie, a young girl who discovers cameras in her house and tracks them down to JJ (Bautista), the agent tasked with surveilling her family.

In exchange for not blowing his cover, Sophie gets JJ to teach her how to be a spy. Hijinks ensue.

My Spy is part of STX Entertainment’s upcoming lineup, which was previewed during the CinemaCon festivities this week along with Bad Moms’ Moms and Chadwick Boseman’s 21 Bridges.

Peter Segal of Get Smart directs My Spy, which was written by Red‘s Jon and Erich Hoeber. The film will be released later this year.
