Darth Vader suits up in new Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer

Happy May the 4th — and welcome to the Dark Side.

It's Star Wars Day, and with Obi-Wan Kenobi just weeks away from premiering on Disney+, Lucasfilm is celebrating with a brand-new trailer teasing everything we can expect from the upcoming series. Including... our first look at Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) suiting up as Darth Vader.

"They're coming," Ewan McGregor's Kenobi says ominously at the beginning over footage of marching stormtroopers, teasing just how intense the hunt for the Jedi Knight will be.

We then see Joel Edgerton's Uncle Owen addressing Obi-Wan about wanting to train Luke, going straight for the heart (and our own hearts) by throwing the words "like you trained his father?" back at him, just like he did in A New Hope.

The trailer also shows us more of Moses Ingram's Inquisitor Reva, revealing how ruthless she'll be as she attempts to track down a Kenobi on the run from the Empire (we get some epic shots of the character wielding her red lightsaber, to boot.) And we get our first blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance of Kumail Nanjiani, who is playing a mysterious new character.

But the real excitement comes at the very end, when we see a familiar black suit being assembled along with heavy, sinister breathing. Behold our first official footage of Darth Vader, who according to director Deborah Chow is not quite the Vader we see in A New Hope... but is deadly nonetheless.

"You can't win, Obi-Wan!" Inquisitor Reva yells as Kenobi tries to flee during one of their battles. "You can't escape him!"
