EXCLUSIVE: Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood, Daredevil) is set to star in horror-thriller The Cycle, which will be launched for sales at the Cannes market by The Exchange.

In the film, when the body of a man missing for thirty-six years is discovered at the scene of a horrific crime, it’s up to his estranged daughter to unravel his dark past.

The project heralds from 47 Meters Down and The Fall producer Tea Shop Productions, which is in the Cannes lineup with Nic Cage pic The Surfer.

Directing is Jordan Downey (The Head Hunter) from a script by Downey and Kevin Stewart (The Head Hunter). The plan is to shoot later this year.

Shudder, AMC Networks’ genre streaming service, has acquired rights in the US and Canada, UK and Ireland, and Australia/New Zealand.

Ann Woll is rose to fame as Jessica Hamby in the HBO series True Blood and went on to play Karen Page in Marvel’s Daredevil series. Film credits include roles in Escape RoomRuby Sparks, and Mother’s Day. She is in post on Marvel and Disney’s Daredevil: Born Again.

“We are so excited about The Cycle, Jordan has crafted such an original story that is gonna excite audiences. For us he has the ability to be the next great genre film maker and we can wait to make the movie,” said James Harris of Tea Shop.
