Daredevil Born Again Set Photos: Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll Reunite

Netflix’s original “Daredevil” trio has reunited on the streets of New York City, where the upcoming Disney+ series “Daredevil: Born Again” is now filming. Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page) and Elden Henson (Franklin “Foggy” Nelson) were spotted shooting scenes together for the new show alongside Wilson Bethel, who is also reprising the role of Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye from the Netflix series. The “Born Again” series formally brings all of these characters into the Disney-owned Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While Cox’s return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has already taken place in Disney+ shows such as “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” and “Echo,” he’ll finally be joined by his Netflix cast members Woll and Henson in “Born Again.” Woll cast doubt on her return to the franchise in November 2022 when she said on the “Inside of You” podcast that she was never contacted about returning as Karen Page for “Born Again.”
“I can say this: they have not called me yet. So, as of now, I am not a part of it,” Woll said at the time. “I would be thrilled to get to be a part of it. They know where I am. Like I said, I love the character Karen Page. I love telling that story. I feel like I have more to say. But it is up to them what kind of story that they want to tell.”
Netflix pulled the plug on its “Daredevil” series in fall 2018 after three seasons. Woll’s comments about not being asked to return for the Disney+ continuation were said before the show underwent a huge creative overhaul last year.
The series parted ways with head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman last October while the production was shut down amid the SAG-AFTRA strike. Marvel also released the directors for the remaining episodes of the season as it decided to take “Born Again” in a new creative direction despite half of the series’ 18-episode order already being shot. Only some elements of pre-existing material is expected to be used in the final cut of the show.
Dario Scardapane, who wrote and executive produced on Netflix’s “The Punisher” series, stepped in to serve as the new “Born Again” showrunner a few weeks after Ord and Corman’s exit. The duo are still being credited as executive producers. Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead — who directed on Marvel’s “Moon Knight” and “Loki” Season 2 — were added as directors. It’s unclear whether or not the original 18-episode order remains.
Vincent D’Onofrio, who is back as Kingpin in the new series, defended the show following the news of its creative overhaul, saying such retooling is common in Hollywood.
“Unless you really know what’s going there’s a chance you could be wrong about this statement,” D’Onofrio wrote on X in response to a fan saying one of the actor’s original posts celebrating “Born Again” had “aged poorly” in light of the overhaul news. “We are going to bring forward the best series we can. One we can be proud of. Have some trust my friend, trust.”
“Every cool project I’ve been involved with has evolved constantly during pre-production, production and post,” D’Onofrio went on to explain. “It’s just reported on these days as if it’s big news. It’s not. It’s a bunch of creatives doing their best to get it right. It’s a constant in this business. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Frankly I’d be worried if we were settling for less.”
