Danny DeVito Turns Into The Rock for 'Jumanji: The Next Level'

The Rock and Kevin Hart are grumpy old men in the first look at "Jumanji: The Next Level."

Sony Pictures dropped the first trailer on Monday for the sequel to the insanely popular 2017 action flick, "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle."

In the sequel, Spencer is now living with his grandpa, Danny DeVito, and his friend, played by Danny Glover.

After Spencer seemingly goes missing back into the game of Jumanji, his friends teleport in after him only to realize that all the characters in the game have been mixed up.

This time around, DeVito has morphed into The Rock's avatar, and Glover becomes his trusty sidekick, played by Hart.

Martha still landed in Karen Gillan's attractive, yet deadly, role ... however the Fridge once again gets the short end of the stick by becoming Jack Black's avatar of Professor Sheldon "Shelly" Oberon.

Nick Jonas is also back in action as Jefferson "Seaplane" McDonough, along with the introduction of a new character in the game, played by Awkwafina.

The new movie takes the characters out of the jungle and into the landscapes of snowy mountains, as well as the vast desert.

The Rock shared many moments from production over the past year, including celebrating his 47th birthday back in May.

He may have been in the desert, but the movie star was still presented with a cake -- although he had to imagine the candles.

The Rock also gave a shoutout to all his favorite co-stars ... and of course left out Kevin Hart, but later gave him a shoutout as his "lil' chocolate biscuit son."

After production wrapped on "Jumanji: The Next Level," director Jake Kasdan thanked "the best crew on earth" for the hard work.

The Rock also wrote, "What a 2 year journey to get to this point of completion. Thank you to our brilliant & hard working crew & filmmakers. And as always, to the ones who all this is done for - our audience - hope you enjoy."

"Jumanji: The Next Level" is scheduled to premiere December 13.
