Daniel Johnston “Hi, How Are You Day 2020” Tribute Event Announced
On what would be Daniel Johnston’s 59th birthday, a number of artists will perform a tribute concert at Austin’s Moody Theater for Hi, How Are You Day 2020. The third annual benefit event inspired by the iconic songwriter will feature performances from TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe, White Denim, Cage the Elephant, and more. The event, which takes place January 22, is presented by American Campus Communities. Tickets will be available here, starting Friday, December 6.
“This year’s Hi, How Are You Day will have special significance as it’s the first event since Daniel’s passing,” said Tom Gimbel, Johnston’s manager and co-founder of the Hi, How Are You Project. “Many of the artists who will be performing have a long and close history with Daniel and his music. Their support has been really meaningful over the past two months.”
