Over 30 pieces of Daniel Johnston’s artwork will be displayed in the new exhibition Daniel Johnston: Psychedelic Drawings at Electric Lady Studios in New York. The exhibition, presented by the Outsider Art Fair and curated by Gary Panter, will be up from January 28 to February 7. It’ll be viewable online and in person via scheduled appointment. Tickets are available here.

“Art has always been a fixture at the Electric Lady—from the large sci-fi, space murals commissioned by Hendrix, to the decoupage installations done here in the early 1970s,” said Lee Foster, Electric Lady’s managing partner, in a statement. “I began building my own collection of Daniel’s work and recognized that a separate collection for the studio would be great inspiration for musicians recording here. The creative dialog begins instantly when people see them.”

The exhibition marks the beginning of a more official creative relationship between the famed studio and the Daniel Johnston Trust, led by Foster. “Honey, I Sure Miss You,” a tribute to the late singer-songwriter with performances by Beck, Jeff Tweedy, Phoebe Bridgers, and more, was released last fall.
