It’s music video night in the ballroom, so everyone’s job was to find inspiration from certain pop culture hits to get a smile out of guest judge Paula Abdul. Turns out it wasn’t that hard; Abdul doled out lots of 9s and 10s!

Reality TV star Harry Jowsey (Too Hot to Handle) with partner Rylee Arnold. You know when someone does something so embarrassing on TV that you want to curl into a fetal position and pray for it to stop? That’s what happened when Jowsey attempted to channel a young Justin Timberlake (curly wig, included) while dancing “jazz” to NSYNC’s “It’s Gonna Be Me.” “The sync wasn’t always on,” admitted judge Bruno Tonioli. “I just love watching you my darling.” Score: 24 out of 40

More from Deadline

Actor Barry Williams (The Brady Bunch) with partner Peta Murgatroyd. Williams is downright giddy that he’s made it this far (as am I). Tonight, his job was to perform the quickstep to the apt tune “I’m Still Standing” from Elton John. Slow and tenuous with his steps, Williams didn’t appear as confident as he has in the past. “Not only are you still standing you are still smiling, and you are making us all smile,” said judge Carrie Ann Inaba. “It’s smooth, it’s classy.” Score: 28 out of 40

Actress Alyson Hannigan (American Pie) with partner Sasha Farber. The effervescent Hannigan danced the quickstep to Christina Aguilera’s Candyman and had just about everyone declaring it was her best dance this season. “I love the opening nods to the music video,” added judge Derek Hough. “You held your own.” Score: 33 out of 40

Charity Lawson (The Bachelorette) with partner Artem Chigvintsev. Lawson began her jazz number to Janet Jackson’s All For You by hoofing it hot with three other female pros. Did we really need Artem to join in on the fun? He eventually did by throwing his jean shorts-wearing partner into a lift that had her landing crotch first into his face. Oh my. The judges weren’t as full of praise as they usually have been with Lawson, though. “Taking on Janet Jackson is tough but I have to say you should be proud,” said Tonioli, who then gave her an 8. Score: 32 out of 40

Social media star/Latin music artist Lele Pons with partner Brandon Armstrong. It was more than obvious the social media star enjoyed the chance to open the show with a very sexy (and delightfully hippy) salsa to Shakira’s “Whenever, Wherever.” “Your hips did not lie, my love. Great isolation,” said Tonioli. “Nailed it!” Score: 33 out of 40

Actress Xochitl Gomez (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) with partner Val Chmerkovskiy.  Lucky girl got to dance jazz to “Hollaback Girl” from Gwen Stefani which will certainly have folks asking, who danced it better? I’m gonna have to go with Gomez, not Gwen, here. “You are the most provocative and surprising partnerships in this ballroom,” said Abdul. “You are so wonderful and exude such joy.” Score: 34 out of 40

Singer-songwriter Jason Mraz with partner Daniella Karagach. The pro had a foot injury during rehearsals so she brought in a troupe member to help Mraz prepare his jazz dance to “Take On Me” from 1985. With a bitchen backdrop of Mraz/Karagach sketches that mirrored the original music video, Mraz skipped and twirled through his best performance yet this season, so it was particularly unnerving when Carrie Ann Inaba trashed it. “What was amazing, this was a jazz routine and that might have been those most jazzy jazz,” she said. “It’s a toned down version of jazz. I was a bit underwhelmed from the performance.” Score: 35 out of 40

Ariana Madix (Vanderpump Rules) with partner Pasha Pashkov. It’s been Madix’s life goal to be Britney Spears’ best friend so, natch, she was game to cha cha to the singer’s “I’m a Slave 4 You.” And what a performance it was; Madix is really getting into this live stage performing thing. Why did she waste her time on Bravo, anyway? “Tonight you were daring mix of finesse and fury,” said Abdul. “You channeled Britney perfectly.” Score: 37 out of 40

Team Dance Round!

Madix and Pashkov won immunity for being on the top of the leaderboard Tuesday so they will not have to compete in next week’s dance off.

The “Young and Style” team of Jowsey, Pons, Gomez and Lawson danced the quickstep to Gangnam Style. Jowsey, who once again donned the Timberlake wig (oy), was the weakest link but everyone rallied with the signature moves from Psy’s ubiquitous video. I mean, who wouldn’t? The song is so stupidly addictive, you can’t help but recreate those steps from the 2012 video. Hough was so impressed that he jumped over the desk and hugged Jowsey. “You are not a soloist,” he said to him. “You are a team player.” Score: A perfect 40

The Team 4 Everybody (huh?) of Hannigan, Mraz, Madix and Williams performed the tango to the Backstreet Boys, which was highlighted with a terrific lift-cum-twirl by Madix and Pashkov. You could tell the judges weren’t nearly as impressed by this one as they were with the Gangnam stylers, though. “That was another great number,” said Tonioli, simply. Score: 37 out of 50

Three dancers were left standing at the end (though host Alfonso Ribeiro made sure to say they weren’t “necessarily” the bottom three). They were Williams, Pons and Lawson.

Pons is out. Greg Brady lives to see another day!
