Monday's Dancing With the Stars and The Voice opened with statements concerning the tragic shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Voice opened with a graphic card stating:
"We are all profoundly shaken by the horrific tragedy that occured last night in Vegas, which was especially heartbreaking knowing that people were gathered in celebration of life, love, and music.
'The Voice' stands in unity with all those affected, and hopes the power of music will continue to inspire, comfort and bring us together."
Host Tom Bergeron opened DWTS by saying, "There's an old saying the show must go on. And it will. But first, all of us at "Dancing with the stars" want to send our love, thoughts, and prayers to everyone touched by the senseless violence in Las Vegas. Please know that we're doing tonight's show with you foremost in our minds and hearts."
Contestant Drew Scott is a resident of Las Vegas. When the real estate reality star was given a moment to address his hometown he said, "All of our hearts are with the families affected. It's a sad situation, we're here, our prayers are here for you guys, and we're here for you."
