In a shocking turn of events, actor and singer Jamie Lynn Spears was voted off the second episode of the season, despite scoring higher than several other couples with 16 points from the judges. "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Mauricio Umansky and partner Emma Slater received the lowest score of the night, with 12 points. But after tallying audience votes, Spears was sent home.

"Honestly, it's quite surprising," judge Derek Hough said at the end of last week's episode, stumbling for words after Spears' elimination. "Jamie Lynn you were fantastic. It's just, wow. It's a shocker, honestly."
