“Dancing with the Stars” is waltzing permanently to Tuesday nights this fall, as the competition series makes its return to ABC (while continuing to simulcast on Disney+). The series’ Season 32 premiere airs on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. ET, with a special expanded two-and-a-half-hour edition. “DWTS” will run at its usual two-hour length starting the following week, at 8 p.m.

Also on Mondays, a one-time half-hour “Celebrity Family Feud” with “Dancing with the Stars” contestants will air at 10:30 p.m. ET on Sept. 26; “Press Your Luck” will join the Tuesday night lineup on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 10 p.m..

ABC had originally announced a fall schedule with “DWTS” in its usual Monday night slot. But then, the Alphabet net also revealed that it would simulcast ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” on Sept. 11, 18 and 25.

“Dancing with the Stars” has aired its performance episode on Mondays since at least Season 4, in 2007. For several years, ABC also ran a “DWTS” results show on Tuesdays. Those results shows were phased out in 2013; after that, special episodes of “DWTS” would occasionally run on a Tuesday — but “DWTS” has mostly been seen as a Monday night staple, including last season, when it only ran on Disney+.

ABC has not yet revealed its plans on Monday nights beyond those first three weeks of “Monday Night Football”; among the possibilities are an expansion of those NFL simulcasts. But another option may be a mix of  “Judge Steve Harvey,” “Abbott Elementary” repeats and “What Would You Do?” — shows that were originally slated for Wednesday nights, where instead “Celebrity Jeopardy” (with host Ken Jennings) “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” and “The $100,000 Pyramid” will air starting Sept. 27.

That was part of a recent ABC fall reshuffle. On Mondays, “DWTS” was to have been paired with “The Golden Bachelor,” while Tuesdays, “Celebrity Jeopardy” and “Bachelor in Paradise” were originally slated to air back-to-back. Now, “The Golden Bachelor” and “Bachelor in Paradise” will air on Thursdays starting Sept. 28.

Unchanged, and also previously announced, are “Shark Tank” and “20/20” on Fridays, starting Sept. 29, and “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and “The Wonderful World of Disney” on Sundays beginning Oct. 1.
