‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 32 Premiere Sashays To Series Best 35-Day Audience Growth

EXCLUSIVE: Dancing With The Stars is bopping its way to the top this season on ABC.

The Season 32 premiere has nearly doubled its audience since it aired on September 26. After 35 days of multiplatform viewing, the episode has grown to 8.4M total viewers, according to the network.

That’s up 3.62M from its same-day broadcast audience of around 4.8M. However, Dancing With The Stars is also simulcast on Disney+, so it’s unclear exactly how many people tuned in the night of the premiere to watch.

In terms of ratings, the episode has also managed a 1.6 among adults 18-49, marking a 150% increase from the live + same-day rating.

These are the best delayed-viewing increases that the series has ever seen, according to ABC.

Things had been looking up for Dancing With The Stars once the series moved back to ABC after spending one season strictly on Disney+. Viewership numbers for Season 31 were never released, but it’s likely that the move was influenced by low audience numbers.

When the series premiered again on ABC this season, it tallied 6.5M viewers in its first three days. That’s about the same number of people who tuned in for the Season 30 premiere in 2021.

But, now ABC says the Season 32 premiere has improved over the previous ABC outing. In the MP35 window, the Season 32 premiere is up 11% versus 2021 (which saw 7.57M viewers in the same time frame). It’s also up 3% in the 18-49 demographic.

Dancing With The Stars airs live on ABC and Disney+ and next day on Hulu. This Tuesday night is Whitney Houston night in the ballroom.
