“Dancing with the Stars” Season 32 will premiere as scheduled on Tuesday after a tentative deal was reached between the Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers on Sunday, ABC confirmed Monday. In addition, “Veep” star Matt Walsh is returning to the cast.

The show’s premiere, which is set for Tuesday at 8/7c on ABC and Disney+, was put in doubt after the series was picketed last week due to its status as a WGA signatory with one union writer. Because of that, Walsh, a WGA member, dropped out on Thursday.

“With the hopeful resolution and vote with the WGA, ‘Dancing with the Stars’ would no longer be a struck show therefore all cast would be able to return. This includes WGA member Matt Walsh,” the actor’s rep said in a statement to our sister site Deadline.

The deal still needs to be ratified by WGA members, but the guild has suspended all picketing. However, writers are not yet allowed to return to work until given the go-ahead from the union that the strike is officially over.

Last week, WGA members picketed “Dancing” and pressured the celebrity cast, which includes Mira Sorvino and Alyson Hannigan, to withdraw. Walsh was the only one to do so. SAG-AFTRA members like Walsh, Sorvino and Hannigan, are not in violation of that guild’s strike rules because reality shows like “Dancing” are under the Network Code agreement, not the TV, theatrical and streaming one SAG-AFTRA is striking. ABC had begun to put plans in place last week to delay the premiere but never officially announced a postponement.

Walsh is one of 14 celebrities in the Season 32 cast and is partnered with Koko Iwasaki.

“Dancing with the Stars” premieres with a two-and-a-half-hour episode Tuesday at 8/7c on ABC and Disney+. Episodes will be available the next day on Hulu.
