“Dancing with the Stars” is on the move: Season 32 will premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 8/7c on ABC.

The news was announced Tuesday on “Good Morning America,” along with the reveal of a third cast member, Jamie Lynn Spears. The “Zoey 101” and “Sweet Magnolias” star will be partnered with former champ Alan Bersten. Spears, the younger sister of Britney Spears, joins “Vanderpump Rules” star Ariana Madix and “The Bachelorette’s” Charity Lawson as Season 32 contestants. The full cast will be unveiled on Wednesday’s “GMA.”

The Season 32 premiere will be a 90-minute episode. The Tuesday time slot is a new one for “Dancing,” which debuted in 2005 and had long aired in the Mondays-at-8 slot on ABC (“Dancing” used to air results shows on Tuesdays until 2013). Last season, it moved to Disney+, becoming the streaming service’s first live series, and ABC resumed broadcasting “Monday Night Football.” In May, shortly after announcing “Dancing” would return to its original home, ABC had scheduled the series and “The Golden Bachelor” on Mondays, but both shows have since been displaced, with the latter now airing on Thursdays.

“Dancing’s” return to ABC, of course, also allowed the network to fill out its reality-heavy fall schedule in the wake of the writers’ strike and subsequent actors’ strike. ABC’s fall slate, announced two weeks after the writers’ strike started in May, is all unscripted fare except for repeats of “Abbott Elementary.”

Season 32 will look quite different, not just from the last time “Dancing” was on ABC but last season as well. Julianne Hough is joining Alfonso Ribeiro as co-host after Tyra Banks exited in March following three seasons. The show will return to a three-judge panel with Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. After retiring following Season 31, former head judge Len Goodman died in April of bone cancer.

“Dancing with the Stars” premieres Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 8/7c on ABC. Season 32 will be simulcast on ABC and Disney+ with episodes available on Hulu the next day.
