Video may have killed the radio star, but Dancing With the Stars is still going strong and tonight the celebs paid tribute to some of the most iconic music videos of all time.

And who better to join the judges panel as a guest than an icon in her own right, Paula Abdul? The Grammy-winning artist and dancer walked out to her own song, "Forever Your Girl," and said she was ready to have fun in the ballroom tonight. But it seemed like the judges had something else in mind, as they were harder than ever on the remaining contestants.

Ariana Madix felt like talking and felt like dancing when she channeled Britney Spears for her "I'm a Slave 4 U" inspired cha-cha. The reality star perfectly mimicked Britney's sultry, sweaty dance moves from the video and impressed the judges by dancing side by side with the pros. Ariana claims to have watched the video one thousand times since its debut in 2001. She received a 10 from Paula and a 37 overall. She and partner Pasha ended up on the top of the leaderboard after the first round so they're able to skip the dance-off next week.

It may only be November but Harry Jowsey said it's gonna be May. He donned a wig reminiscent of ramen noodles and makeup fit for a Ken doll to pay homage to the video for the NSYNC classic "It's Gonna Be Me." NSYNC member Lance Bass stopped by rehearsals to give Harry some sound dance advice – add more bouncing. But even though the judges enjoyed the fun nature of the routine, he still ended up at the bottom of the leaderboard.

Xochitl Gomez gave an upbeat Jazz performance to "Hollaback Girl" by Gwen Stefani but fell short when she experienced a costume malfunction in the second half of the dance. The judges were quick to point out the lull that the dance fell into but Xochitl came out undefeated. "Things happen for a reason, I'm not going to be sad," she told Julianne Hough in the Skybox.

Then came the group dances! First up was team Young'n Style made up of Harry and Rylee, Charity and Artem, Lele and Brandon, and Xochitl and Val. The gang performed an energetic freestyle to "Gangnam Style" by Psy and received praise from the judges and the first perfect score of the season with four 10s.

Then Alyson and Sasha, Ariana and Pasha, Barry and Peta, and Jason and Daniella, team 4 Everybody danced to "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" by Backstreet Boys and received a 37 out of 40 from the judges. The group dance scores were added onto each couples overall scores, bringing Xochitl and Val up to the top to tie with Ariana and Pasha.

Then, in a shocking twist, Lele Pons was sent home.

"I'm so grateful for everything," the influencer and musician said upon her departure. "Everyone here is the best."
