The Dancing With the Stars showrunners caused a stir when they replaced hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews with Tyra Banks in July 2020 — but it wasn’t the first time the role had a change of guards.

Bergeron served as the constant host for the dance competition from its 2005 debut through season 28, which aired in 2019.

He had his fair share of cohosts before Andrews came on board in 2014 starting with season 18 — but their partnership eventually became synonymous with the show after working together for 11 seasons.

While Bergeron and Andrews’ departure was a surprise, Andrews exclusively told Us Weekly in November 2021 that it was a blessing in disguise. “They wanted to go a different direction, and they’re doing that now. So, hopefully they’re happy,” she said at the time.

Banks, meanwhile, was joined by Alfonso Ribeiro as cohost in 2022. She exited DWTS the following year when Julianne Hough was tapped for season 32.
