Dancing with the Stars brought the heat for Latin Night!

Tuesday night's episode kicked off with a red-hot dance by the pros before co-hosts Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro took the stage to introduce the stars and their partners.

Upon introducing Artem Chigvintsev and Bachelorette star Charity Lawson, Julianne and Alfonso announced that Artem was unable to dance tonight due to a positive COVID diagnosis, which the pro dancer revealed earlier on Tuesday. In his place, Ezra Sosa would be competing with Charity.

Then, the dances got off to a start!

The pros after dancing on Latin Night during 'Dancing with the Stars'

Lele Pons and Brandon Armstrong

Lele, who is Venezuelan, brought Brandon to Miami this week to "show what a party is like with her family and friends." The location also provided some inspiration as they rehearsed their Samba to "Gasolina" by Daddy Yankee. Lele revealed the song happened to be one of her favorites — and one she's danced to on social media many times.

After taking the ballroom floor, judge Derek Hough called their performance "spicy" and noted how Lele was "rocking those hips." He added, "The flair was there! Great way to start off Latin Night."

Bruno Tonioli was all for the YouTuber's energy, telling Lele, "You are the life and soul of the party!" But, he also offered some critique. "You need to learn to polish and perfect the details," Bruno said.

Carrie Ann Inaba also praised Lele for how she "set this place on fire and burned it all down!"

Speaking to Julianne afterwards, Lele said she didn't necessarily feel any "pressure" to perform well, but she wanted to make her family and friends proud.

Score: 21/30

Tyson Beckford and Jenna Johnson

Tyson said it "felt good to be saved by America" last week after he ended up in the bottom three, but admitted how "that hurt" and he knew he could do better.

The supermodel was also determined to prove himself this week, especially since he was a descendant of "latin blood" and his "grandfather worked on the Panama Canal."

"I want to represent my Latin roots," he emphasized.

His and Jenna's dance was full of flair — and lifts — and the judges loved it. "You worked very, very hard and got results," Bruno said, as Carrie Ann cheered and added, "You owned the dance floor! You were a fantastic partner to Jenna."

Derek also commended their partnership, but suggested Tyson "lift up the legs a little bit."

Afterwards, Tyson said of their feedback, "I don't even know how to speak. I'm flabbergasted over the whole performance," before dedicating their dance to his neighbor who lost their dad.

Score: 18/30

Barry Williams and Peta Murgatroyd

Barry called last week's dance "so freeing" but expressed worries about this week's routine being "more difficult." Still, Barry vowed to do well so Bruno would call him "down and dirty Barry."

Providing even more inspiration for Barry was his recent birthday on Sept. 30. Getting high scores, he said, would be the greatest "belated birthday present."

Carrie Ann praised Barry's "natural, easy confidence" but said she didn't think this dance was "as good as the last one." Her comments elicited boos from the crowd.

Derek said he "loves watching" Barry and offered a tip about how not to slip on the floor and gain his gripping. "You are such a pleasure to watch, keep doing what you're doing," he added.

Bruno also said The Brady Bunch actor was "strutting his stuff" but pointed out that it looked like a different dance style at times.

Before getting his scores, Barry embraced his "Bad Baz" persona and growled at the cameras. However, that wasn't enough to bring him the high scores he was hoping for.

Adrian Peterson and Britt Stewart

In his intro package, Adrian admitted he "felt amazing" when he stepped onto the ballroom floor last week. This week, the NFL star introduced Britt to his newborn daughter. The happy moment was something Britt hoped he could channel in his Samba.

But while the two performed a happy, lively dance to "Taki Taki", the judges still had feedback to offer afterwards.

Derek said he "loved watching" Adrian and gave him props for learning the difficult dance, but noted it was still "a little blocky" and there "was still some work to be done there."

"You really want to get it right, you apply yourself," Bruno pointed out. "You can afford to soften a little bit... you've got it within you to be better."

Carrie Ann praised his "incredible athletic prowess" but urged him to focus in on his refinement on the moves. "You have to be centered," she said.

Score: 15/30

Mira Sorvino and Gleb Savchenko

The actress said she "almost cried" when the judges complimented her dancing abilities last week because she's "always wanted to be a dancer."

This week, Mira focused her efforts on a Salsa — and dedicated her performance to a friend who taught her the dance years ago. For inspiration, the two went to the beach to nail the "playful" energy of the routine.

Bruno said Mira "definitely has the body for a Salsa" and praised her dance, but pointed out she had a "couple of mistakes."

Carrie Ann said the "only thing that's really lacking is the consistent confidence in the dance," and urged the actress to keep it flowing "all the way through."

Derek echoed his fellow judge and said Mira just has "to unleash it." He added, "Sometimes, the steps are leading you, I want you to lead the steps... own your movement."

Through her tears, Mira said in the skybox that dedicating the dance to her friend "made it harder," but she knows "she'd be happy that we did this."

Score: 18/30

Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy

The Marvel star was determined to improve her scores this week and was excited to dance to Camila Cabello's "Don't Go Yet." However, when Val revealed they would likely have to incorporate lifts into their routine, Xochitl admitted it would be a challenge for her because she has a fear of heights.

"I'm nervous just because I don't really like to show my fear," she told cameras.

Still, that didn't stop the actress from allowing Val to take her to new heights and complete the routine with a lift.

"Salsa is your superpower, my friend!" Carrie Ann raved afterwards. "You gave us style, and sophistication, and storytelling and an amazing partnership!"

Derek was on his feet as he commended Xochitl. "That was so good!" he said. "The way you used your arms, the texture in your movements, your spins are out of this world. That was exceptional!"

Bruno called it a "power salsa" and "so hot." He also thanked them for doing an "authentic salsa" and characterized the dance as "absolutely superb."

Speaking about her fear of heights afterward, Xochitl told Julianne, "When you've got a partner like Val, it's pretty easy to turn things around quick." It ultimately paid off, as the duo earned the highest score of the night and the highest score of the season so far.

Score: 24/30

Ariana Madix and Pasha Pashkov

Ariana praised last week's dance for "closing the book on the drama of my life," and focused her efforts on this week's Samba.

"I really want to get an 8 this week," the Vanderpump Rules star said, noting how she was determined to add more risks into their routine.

After taking the ballroom floor, Derek said he was "very impressed" with Ariana's Samba roll and called the reality star "a natural performer." However, he noted that it "lacked a little bit of refinement, [and] a little control."

Bruno raved about the routine, calling it "so sexy." The judge also pointed out that Ariana missed a step "and lost balance."

Carrie Ann agreed, but urged Ariana to "finish your movements." She added, "You have so much going for you that I want you to finish so you can have it all."

Following her performance, Ariana said she feels "much more confident" and she wants to take the judges' feedback, "put them to work and do better."

Score: 20/30

Mauricio Umansky and Emma Slater

At the beginning of his intro package, Mauricio said he was "very disappointed" by landing in the bottom three last week and vowed to improve his skills.

"The pressure's on right now, I need to step it up or I'll go home," the real estate agent said, emphasizing that he wanted to do well, especially "with everything I'm going through at home." (He and wife Kyle Richards have been going through some marital struggles, and he recently revealed they are "quietly and internally" working through their issues.)

Mauricio added that he was hopeful he'd do well this week because he "grew up in Mexico City," and felt Latin Night was the "perfect night for our comeback."

In rehearsing that comeback, Emma said the duo were focused on a "more traditional, authentic Salsa" — but despite their best efforts, Mauricio had a few missteps on the dance floor.

Afterwards, the judges acknowledged that things didn't go as planned, but encouraged Mauricio to focus on the good aspects. "Forget about it," Bruno said of the routine. "It happens to everyone."

Carrie Ann echoed his words, saying, "It happens to the best of us, and I think that you handled it [well]. When you came back, you came back strong."

"A setback sets you up for a comeback," Derek added, before choosing to focus on what he did good, including Mauricio's impressive neck lift at the beginning of the routine.

Even with the mishaps, Emma told Julianne afterwards that they were "just gonna have fun on the floor... this is what matters, it matters when you put your heart out there."

"I feel terrible that I missed it," Mauricio added. "It is what it is, I was trying to channel my dad, the Mambo King."

Score: 12/30

Alyson Hannigan and Sasha Farber

The American Pie actress said she was disappointed with last week's results and focused her efforts on the tango — but the routine proved to be a challenge in rehearsals as she struggled with being sexy and passionate.

"The hardest part is not having my inner goofy self come out," she admitted.

Despite her initial hesitations, Alyson nailed her routine and Carrie Ann praised her afterward. "That was a woman empowered... great comeback from Alyson!" she said.

Derek pointed out how "that was night and day from last week," and praised the actress' "incredible" frame, shape. and sharpness. Bruno also raved, "One giant leap from comedy to drama and it worked!"

After her performance, Alyson joked, "I am just so glad that I did it and didn't throw up!"

Score: 19/30

Charity Lawson and Ezra Sosa

Charity landed at the top of the leaderboard last week with a 22/30, and celebrated her accomplishments with Artem in rehearsal.

They got some Cha Cha dancing in together before Artem tested positive for COVID. With Charity testing negative, she was cleared to keep dancing so Ezra stepped in, marking his debut as a pro on the series.

"Ezra is coming in with experience so that's great," Charity said. "The judges have really high expectations for me... I just hope I can do enough and be enough."

Following the routine, Derek praised Charity for doing "an amazing job" with the "curveball" she was thrown, but urged her to develop "more of a connection" with her partner. Bruno said Charity could "afford to relax a little bit more," and asked for "a little bit more sexual tension."

Carrie Ann also called it "elegant and clean... and borderline stiff," but praised Charity for working with a new partner on a whim.

Speaking about her whirlwind week to Julianne, Charity said, "This just shows I can be thrown anything and I can overcome it."

Score: 21/30

Harry Jowsey and Rylee Arnold

Harry was determined to improve after his low scores last week. "I was so disappointed in myself, I need to work harder," he said, adding that he also wanted to do well for Rylee in her debut season.

"It's all or nothing because if I don't do it, I'm gonna go home," the Too Hot To Handle star told cameras.

After taking the dance floor, Bruno joked Harry was "overdressed for the occasion" before offering some feedback. "You actually put the effort in," he said, adding that Harry's hips were "frozen."

Carrie Ann emphasized how it's "okay to be a beginner," and commended Harry for being "in it" this week. "I want you to grow that confidence even more," she said.

Derek urged Harry, as well as the rest of the dancers, to slow down and make sure they're not ahead of the music.

Though he landed at the bottom of the leaderboard last week, Harry told Julianne, "I'm so blessed to have so many people support us, we're only gonna get better."

Score: 15/30

Jamie Lynn Spears and Alan Bersten

The Zoey 101 actress said her scores were "average" last week and bluntly stated, "I don't like average." She added, "I want to do better."

With a Cha Cha this week, Jamie Lynn was tasked with being sexy. "I think I'm gonna make myself be out of comfort zone this week," she admitted, noting that she's currently a "softball mom" which she doesn't view as sexy.

Even so, the judges commended her for her efforts and noted it was a big improvement from last week. Carrie Ann offered some feedback, including elongating her torso, while Derek joked, "I think softball moms are hot!"

"You came out of your shell... you entertained and connected," Bruno added. "You are a performer and you can do it!"

Score: 16/30

Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach

Jason said "last week felt like being shot out of a cannon," and added how he was "elated" by the results.

With a Rumba this week, Daniella admitted there's "a lot of room for error." Jason took her words to heart and worried about how many mistakes he would end up making.

"Week one, we set a high bar, and now we set this expectation that I'm great and I don't know if I am," the singer admitted.

But his worries seemed to be for nothing as they came out and nailed the routine. Derek praised everything about the performance, simply stating, "That was a beautiful Rumba... Jason, you nailed it, buddy."

Bruno also had nothing but good words to say, while Carrie Ann pointed out the "tiny little misstep" Jason had, but also was thrilled with the dance. "That was exceptional and it was only week two," she pointed out.

With their scores, Jason and Daniella tied Xochitl and Val for first place.

Score: 24/30

Julianne followed with the next five safe couples, including Ariana and Pasha, Mira and Gleb, Xochitl and Val, Jason and Daniella and Barry and Peta.

This left Mauricio and Emma, Jamie Lynn and Alan, and Adrian and Britt standing, though Alfonso noted they weren't necessarily the bottom three. From there, Mauricio and Emma claimed the next safe spot.

With Jamie Lynn and Alan, and Adrian and Britt in the bottom two, it was then announced that Jamie Lynn and Alan had the lowest scores and were heading home.
